The sun is out by 5 in the morning, and it stays up even while you slip into your pjs? That is summer. A delight to witness... more especially when you find yourself in the Mother city; Cape Town.
Summer, comes along with massive sales in the shops and numerous trips to the beaches and not forgetting the unavoidable hikes.
To find yourself on any of the campuses during summer has its own shortfalls. The weather is extremely hot, and you have to imagine yourself in a tub of cold water before you have the brains to grasp anything that will be said in a lecture. It's HOT!... that is what everyone says, ladies and gents as well. This 'hotness' seems to warrant the wearing of anything but clothes on campus. Students parading around with almost naked bodies. Hotness in abundance. The evidence of which is the different shades of skin on a single individual.
Summer nights! Yho! Extreme hotness, that seems to trigger the influx of mosquitoes. Summer in deed.
In the wisdom of God, there is definitely a time for summer, and more importantly a time for Autumn... too bad we have to bid farewell to summer as we usher in fall.
